Paddle Sports Leaders Support Programme 2008

To support leaders who wish to get their members involved in Paddle Sport Activities, there will be the following courses running.

 

March 15th/16th March     2008 

Bell Boat Training and Assessment

Venue                          Winsford Youth Forum Marina

Training and Assessment for both Scouting Permit scheme and if required to the BCU Bell Boat Helm award (Non BCU members there is an additional charge)

Limited to 14 places

Cost £20.00 per person

Places to be booked and paid for by the 1st March.

Cheques payable to Cheshire County Scout Council Canoeing Account

 

Saturday 10th or Sunday 11th May 2008 (Events both days)

Raft  permit awareness and Assessment Day.

Venue                          Winsford Youth Forum Marina

A one-day event covering training in safety awareness and an assessment for Scouting improvised rafting permit.

Each day limited to 12 places.

Cost £10 per person

Cheques payable to Cheshire County Scout Council Canoeing Account

Places to be booked and paid for by 1st May.

 

6 to 8th  June  2008

Junior Bell Boat Helm Course.

Venue                            Tatton Park

An intensive weekends course for Young Leaders/ Explorer Scouts to qualify them for a Junior Bell Boat helm and a  permit to helm Bell boats in Scouting activities. 

Bookings will initially be based on two representatives from each District to ensure the spread across the County. It would be better if the Districts could nominate and support Explorers who wish to take part.

A weekend residential activity for Young Leaders and Explorer Scouts.

The weekend will give Explorers to undertake training as a Bell Boat Helm.

Achieving the award of the fits the Explorer Scout Nautical Skills Badge option b.

Members will be met at Tatton park campsite between 18.00 and 18.40 on the Friday evening by a team of leaders.

Our team of skilled caterers in the Tatton Park Chalet will provide all meals from Friday supper to Sunday lunch.

Members must bring their own tentage.

Bookings will be open to each district to nominate two members initially but a reserve list will be open.

Cost of the event which includes camping and food. Is £ 55.00 a head.

12/13th July 2008

Paddle Power weekend for Scouts and Explorer Scouts.

Venue                          Tatton Park

A non residential weekend of appropriate level coaching to either BCU star test or Paddle Power awards.
