Explorer Scouts are young people, usually aged between 13½ and 18 years old. They make up the fourth section of the Scouting family, they are not part of a particular Scout Group but are Mid-Cheshire District based.

They participate in a wide range of activities appropriate for their age range, they also follow a badge scheme and can work towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award.

All Units meet each week and you will often be out and about at weekends or in the holidays doing activities. There will be times when you will be busy doing other things such as examinations, and being an Explorer Scout will have to fit around these.

As an Explorer Scout, you will get the chance to work with other Explorer Scouts in your District, not just your Unit. By doing this, you will get the chance to do many more activities, not just the ones you organise for your Unit.

There is an Explorer Unit in Mid-Cheshire, they meet at four different centres Hartford and Winnington on a Tuesday night,  Winsford on a Wednesday.  There is also an Explorer Sea Scout Unit at Weaverham that meets on a Friday night.
