We are sorry to hear that Mike G is stepping down as District Commissioner.  Mike took over at a very difficult time at District level.  He sorted a great many problems out and we have become a much stronger team. He will be missed as a DC who likes the roll up his sleeves and get on with scouting.  Mike will continue to fulfil his District obligations this summer.

Having said that, we are very fortunate to be able to fill the position so that there is a smooth hand over.  Andrew L was nominated, been interviewed by CC and has accepted the post.  He has been an excellent ADC Cubs over the past few years, instigating a number of major projects including the District Cub Hike and the District Gang Show and stepped forward with very little persuasion. We all offer him our support in his new role and wish him well for the future.

WELCOME TO THE MID-CHESHIRE SCOUTING DISTRICT

Welcome to the official site for Scouting in Mid-Cheshire.  In it you can find out about how the Scouting works, what we do and how to get involved.

Scouting is split into the following sections:

bulletBeavers: age 6 - 8
bulletCubs: age 8 - 10½
bulletScouts: age 10½ - 14½
bulletExplorers: age 13½ - 18
bulletScout Network: age 18 - 25
bulletFellowship: age 18 and over

In Scouting, we believe that young people develop most when they are 'learning by doing,' when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves.

Scouting helps develop the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual well-being of the individual, encouraging them to use their full potential. This is achieved through participating in numerous activities that include camping, climbing, craft, archery, visits, drama, survival and sports, each tailored to the age ranges in the different sections.

Whatever your interest, Scouting does it and more!
